This policy explains what personal information M C Electrical (SE) Ltd collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it and your rights under UK data protection law.
Who we are
M C Electrical (SE) Ltd ("MC Electrical", "we", "us") is the controller of your personal information. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13961850, with our registered office at 30–34 North Street, Hailsham, East Sussex BN27 1DW.

What we collect
When you use a form on this website (quote, callback or survey request), we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number and, depending on the form, your email address, postcode or address, the service you're interested in, details of the job, your preferred date and time, and any photo you upload.
When you call or email us, we keep the details you give us so we can deal with your enquiry.
When we carry out work for you, we keep job records: your name, contact details, the property address, quotes, invoices, payment records, test results and electrical certificates.
We don't use this website to collect any other information about you. There are no analytics or advertising tools on the site. See our cookie policy.
How we use it and our legal basis

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for marketing.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where needed to provide our service or meet legal requirements:
- Netlify, Inc., which hosts this website and receives form submissions on our behalf. Netlify is based in the USA; transfers are protected by the safeguards required under UK data protection law.
- Our email, accounting and certification software providers, who store information on our behalf.
- NAPIT and the local authority Building Control, when work must be notified under the Building Regulations.
- Our sister company, Solec Renewables Ltd, if you ask about solar or battery storage, as they carry out that work.
- Our accountants, insurers or professional advisers, where needed.
- HMRC or other authorities, where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Job records, quotes and invoices: 6 years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax purposes.
- Electrical certificates and test results: for as long as they may be needed as a record of the installation's safety, which can be longer than 6 years.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong
- ask us to delete your information, where we don't need to keep it for a legal reason
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use your information
- ask for your information to be transferred to another organisation

Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We'll update this page if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
